Riot Games and Globo renew CBLOL broadcast deal

Globo will continue to broadcast Riot's League of Legends championship.CBLOL

Riot Games announced today that it is renewing its broadcast deal with Globo for the Brazilian League of Legends Championship (CBLOL). This puts live CBLOL matches on Globo’s pay channel SporTV for the next three years.

Globo is the biggest communications group in Brazil, owning a wide range of TV channels, radio stations, websites and print publications across the country. The group has had an ongoing relationship with Riot Games for CBLOL since 2017. Other esports are available on Brazilian TV: Recently, TNT Sports closed a deal with the KickOff Electronic League to cast its EA Sports FIFA tournament, while RedeTV! and Space channel secured the broadcast rights for Garena’s Brazilian Free Fire League (LBFF).

After two years of playing remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CBLOL (the most prestigious tournament in Brazilian esports) will have pro players back in the studio for the playoffs.

The playoffs kick off March 25. CBLOL also broadcasts on Twitch, YouTube and the Huya-owned platform Nimo TV.
